One of the most powerful aspects of our learning platform is its ability to bridge the global and the local. As well as presenting global programmes, we bring together community-centred stories from around the world and weave meaningful connections between them—helping learners understand how local experiences shape our shared global story.
On EarthMuseum Learn, you can already explore a growing collection of locally-driven programmes created in collaboration with community organisations across the globe:

Rapa Nui (Easter Island)
In partnership with the Rapanui Pioneers Society, we worked during the Covid-19 pandemic to develop interactive maps capturing Rapanui heritage. These have now been transformed into a free, engaging learning programme—bringing the island’s stories to life for learners everywhere.
Belize Coral Reefs
During the same period, we connected with Fragments of Hope, an organisation dedicated to protecting and restoring Belize’s coral reef systems. Together, we’ve created resources that highlight the importance of marine ecosystems and community-led conservation.

Isle of Wight UNESCO Biosphere
Over the past five years, our collaboration with the Isle of Wight Museums and Schools Programme—supported by Arts Council England, the UK Department for Education, and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport—has led to the creation of the Isle of Wight Heritage Biosphere Learning Menu. This rich resource features nearly 500 local stories, celebrating the island’s natural and cultural heritage.
Today, young learners can explore these programmes alongside their teachers—engaging with authentic, place-based content developed by passionate community heritage champions. By connecting local knowledge with global understanding, EarthMuseum Learn empowers learners to see the world not just as observers—but as participants in a shared, interconnected future.
